Brisbane has it all! Theatres, galleries, museums, history and lots of culture! The city is full of sculptures, artworks, monuments and inspiring spaces and is a great place to explore if you’re an art lover! While in the city we snapped numerous art installations, visited the State Library of Queensland, rode to the top of the Brisbane Town Hall clock tower and spent the day wandering around the amazing Queensland Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA).
GOMA is an amazing space in the city and a great FREE resource for locals and visitors alike. The exhibitions are varied and the pieces are unique and show exceptional artistic and creative talent! We spend several hours exploring GOMA and thoroughly enjoyed our time there.
I couldn’t finish this post without a special thank you to the State Library of Queensland. The library is ultra-modern and forward thinking and has some great spaces to read, write, relax and most importantly for most travellers check-in on family and friends. There’s free Wifi throughout the building and the foyer and the riverside location is a great place to while away an afternoon!
If you’re in Brisbane make sure you soak up some of the art and culture on offer – whether it’s architecture, sculpture, painting, modernism or music you’re in to you won’t be disappointed!
