One of the many animals that calls Magnetic Island home are the adorably cute Rock Wallabies – a species of Wallaby that makes it’s home in and amongst the rocks.

Rock Wallabies are nocturnal Marsupials that can only be found in Australia and are unfortunately classified as a threatened species!

These adorably, fluffy animals are amazing rock climbers and bound from rock-to-rock effortlessly – even when carrying young!

On Magnetic Island there’s only 1 place to see Rock Wallabies and that’s in Arcadia Bay! Everyday at 5pm a local resident comes and feeds the Rock Wallabies and they all come rushing out to nibble on the grass or tomatoes he brings!

If you sit down quietly the Wallabies will come and eat out of the palm of your hand and if you’re gentle they’ll even let you stroke them. The Wallabies are incredibly entertaining and it’s great opportunity to learn more about their behavior and habitat.

There’s not a lot more I can say as the pictures speak for themselves so sit back, relax and enjoy!
